People living in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh are in bad condition, due to a lack of supply of electricity for the last 24 hours. Actually, the employees of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam have gone on strike against the proposal of privatization of the power supply department, which has affected the supply of electricity. People are not able to access their daily needs like water, etc, due to which they are facing trouble in doing everyday work. Some people have agitated due to power cuts and have also performed a blockade in Prayagraj in the morning on 6 October.
People are getting upset due to power cuts in many districts of Purvanchal like Deoria, Azamgarh, Barabanki, Mau, Ghazipur, Prayagraj Chandauli, Mirzapur.
Employees on Strike
Explain that about 15 lakh employees of the electricity department have gone on strike due to the proposal of the privatization of the electricity department. In many places, the offices of the electricity department were closed, where the telephone numbers are written to the officials, ink vessels have been given there. Officer employees are protesting on the streets.
People Traffic Jam
People from city to city are in trouble due to power failure. In some areas of Prayagraj, people were disturbed by power cuts and blocked the roads. Employees locked the Jhusi power sub-station. Efforts are being made to supply water to the people with tankers, etc.
According to media reports, no solution has been reached from the discussion with the Power Corporation management of the Joint Staff Committee on 5 October. Officials of the electricity department say that their movement will continue, if this happens, then this power crisis can be further heated.
