Ministers will reach the constituency only in the last phase of the election campaign. CPM state secretary MV Govindan will inaugurate LDF’s election convention on 16th. LDF candidate Jake C. Thomas will submit his papers on the 17th.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called UDF candidate Chandi Oommen on phone and wished him success. Rahul Chandy told Oommen that he should get good success in the by-elections and follow his father’s path and work for the people. Rahul also evaluated the activities of UDF in the by-elections. Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Rahul Gandhi will reach Pudupally for campaign activities.
The by-election in Pudupally was announced after the death of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy. Voting will be held on September 5. The result announcement is at 8.
