The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had decided to cancel the 12th board examinations (CBSE Board Exam 2021) due to Coronavirus. After this decision, many other boards of the country and education departments of the state have also taken the decision to cancel the 12th board examination. At the same time, brainstorming is still going on in many states. Most of the states of Hindi belt Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana have decided to cancel the exam.
What is the situation in which state-
- Haryana: After the announcement of CBSE, 12th board examinations have been canceled in Haryana as well. A decision will be taken soon regarding the marking scheme.
- Gujarat: The Gujarat Education Board has decided to cancel the 12th board examinations. Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama announced the cancellation of examinations on June 2.
- Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the cancellation of 12th board examinations on June 2.
- Uttarakhand: The Education Board of Uttarakhand has also decided that it will not take the 12th board examination.
- Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Education Board has announced the cancellation of class 12th examinations on June 3.
- Rajasthan: The Rajasthan Education Board has also decided to cancel the 12th board examinations.
- Odisha- Council for Higher Secondary Education Odisha has not taken any final decision regarding the 12th board exam at present.
- Bengal- The Government of West Bengal has constituted a 6-member committee on June 2, which will have to give a recommendation to the government in three days after the examination and evaluation is done.
- Assam- The Chief Minister of Assam has said that he will take a decision on canceling the 12th board exams after the announcement of CBSE’s evaluation.
- Karnataka: A decision will be taken soon regarding the state board exams in Karnataka. Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said that a decision on the examinations will be taken after discussing the situation in the state and all the subjects.
- Jharkhand: According to reports, a decision can be taken on the 10th and 12th board examinations in Jharkhand by the end of this week.
- Chhattisgarh: The 12th board examinations of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) have started from June 1. Students will sit for the exam from their home. For this they will be given question paper and answer sheet and they will have to submit it to the school within 5 days. If students fail to submit the paper, they will be marked absent.
- Bihar: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) had conducted the 12th board examinations in February. The results of board examinations were declared in March.
- Maharashtra: In Maharashtra also no decision has been taken regarding the 12th board examinations yet. The Maharashtra government had said some time ago that it will decide after the announcement of the Center. According to the report of NDTV, State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that a decision will be taken on this soon.
- Punjab- The Punjab government is contemplating to take the examination of only 3 main subjects of the 12th board.
- Himachal Pradesh- Decision on canceling the 12th board exam will be taken in the cabinet meeting of June 5. The Chief Minister of the state has said that after the decision of CBSE to cancel the exam, we are also considering canceling the exam.
- Telangana- Practical exams for second year students were to be held from May 29 to June 7, but they were cancelled. Now the new time table will be issued 15 days before the exam date.
