A witness, identified as Building superintendent Ernest Thompson said he came out of the noise outside and saw his tenants in this terrible situation.
“I ran out and saw his mutilated neck and side.”, he noted “Then I told him: ‘Wait for me. I’m going to put compression on you to apply the wounds.
“Before I had a chance to get a few feet away, her son was pushing his grandmother right out the window.”said.
Thompson said she took Grandma and tried to comfort her about what had just happened.
“When she fell, I just grabbed her and said, ‘Don’t move.’ Stay here. I’m getting help,’” she said, as she crouched on the ground and extended her arms toward Grandma.
“At that moment, the police would cross the street and the paramedics would stop at the corner. So there was nothing else I could do professionally for them except pray for them.”.
In addition, He said he did not know much about the man who assaulted the two women, except that he has been living in the apartment for at least two years.
“Seeing my tenant, who is one of my best tenants, in such despair, I don’t know how to react,” she said.
“I haven’t digested it yet. I haven’t been able to process it yet. This is not even 48 hours old yet. “I’m trying to pray for them and hope they’re both okay.”
The elderly woman and the suspect’s mother were taken to Saint Barnabas in stable condition.
So far they have not been identified by the New York Police Department.
The attacker, identified as Randy Sierra, 38, was found inside the apartment with a self-inflicted stab wound to the chest.
He was taken to the same hospital in critical condition and was charged with assault.NYPD noted.
The grandmother told police that she opened the window to call for help because her grandson was scaring her, moments before he pushed her out of the window.
“I was seven steps away,” the building superintendent said. “I could have caught her if I had turned around fast enough.”
