Only a few days ago there were rumors of a new ChatGPT-5 model arriving from OpenAI, rumors then promptly denied by CEO Sam Altman, and now here comes the hypothesis of a Gemini 2.0 ready to debut within a couple of months. Gemini’s last significant update was in February, with the launch of Gemini 1.5. There are no details on what new features we could expect from Gemini 2.0. If we take previous versions as a reference, we can hypothesize more accurate responses, faster processing, support for longer inputs and improvements in reasoning and coding skills.
A possible launch of Gemini 2.0 by the end of the year, as well as a new model from OpenAI, would be further confirmation of the commitment and resources that companies are investing in artificial intelligence to maintain leadership. In recent weeks, we’ve seen the launch of new video tools, image generation improvements, and AI-powered personalized search capabilities. Additionally, millions of iPhone users (at least in the United States) will soon be able to experience Apple Intelligence. In this context, we are still awaiting the launch of Project Astra, the next-generation AI assistant that Google presented at Google I/O 2024 last May. Project Astra combines multiple inputs and outputs in a more advanced and natural way.
