Aishley Bui (Bui Huynh Hoang Uyen) is the only Vietnamese teen model nominated and invited by the organizers to perform at the competition. ASEAN International Fashion Week (AIFW) held in Singapore as an ASEAN model ambassador.
The 17-year-old teen model represents the new generation of models alongside supermodels, models, beauty queens, and kings selected from Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Laos, Philippines, Cambodia…
Aishley Bui’s take on an important role at AIFW doesn’t surprise many people. The reason is because from a young age she was exposed to fashion and is a familiar face on domestic catwalks. Student Xuan Lan was chosen by many domestic and foreign designers to showcase their collections. The time participating in the project The New Generation Of Models helped the girl born in 2007 confidently express herself in the fashion field. Thanks to that, she caught the “eye” of the organizers and participating designers AIFW.
Sharing about the opportunity to participate in a show at a famous fashion event in Asia, Aishley Bui said: “This is an opportunity for me to mark my professional career path. I learned a lot.” from famous models from countries in the region and Vietnam. I think Vietnamese models currently have many opportunities to advance their careers.”
Before going to Singapore to attend this famous fashion event, Aishley Bui spent a month practicing with senior Shinsa Pham. After that, her unit in Vietnam built a development strategy to reach the world in 3 years. This professional program requires models to have a high level of concentration and disciplined professionalism.
According to the teen model’s share, the catwalk training and rehearsal schedule is closely scheduled for 3 days, some days there are 3 consecutive shows and each show has more than 10 designers participating in the performance. Every day I have to participate in fitting to look for performance opportunities. There were happy times when I received the nod from the designer, but there were also many times when I burst into tears because I lost my performance spot when there was a senior who wore a more beautiful design than me.
“As a teen model of the Gen Z generation, I really want to have the opportunity to access regional catwalks because that way I will grow up quickly and have a broad understanding of the modeling profession. I am very hungry. Express yourself and bring the professional image of a Vietnamese model to the world. From there, determine your future career goals,” the teen model shared.
This year’s International Fashion Week takes place from June 7 to 9 at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore. The program brings together more than 50 designers from Australia, America, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia… along with more than 40 carefully selected models from countries in the ASEAN region.
Share your experience here AIFW, the girl said that throughout the event, she always reminded herself to be neat and professional. This business trip is not only personal, but she also wants to promote the image of a Vietnamese model to friends in the area. The teenage model hopes that there will be many fashion events for her age group so that she and her friends who are passionate about modeling can participate, interact and learn more.
