Oppo announced at an event in Ibiza the launch in Europe of two new smartphone models, the Reno12 and the Reno12 Pro. These devices introduce a series of advanced features based on artificial intelligence, offering new opportunities in terms of productivity and creativity. The new models represent a further development of the Reno series, already established on the European market since 2019 with the launch of the first 5G smartphone, Reno 5G. Oppo Europe CEO Bingo Liu said the AI trend is marking a fundamental shift, with smartphones emerging as ideal tools for accessing and using mobile AI. Over 50 million Oppo smartphones equipped with artificial intelligence have been distributed around the world, Liu said on stage at the event.
The Reno12 and Reno12 Pro models feature the new Futuristic Fluid Design and a high-strength alloy structure. Both devices feature the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy mobile platform, developed in collaboration with MediaTek to deliver high performance. In addition to the new silver look, both models offer an alternative style. On the Reno12, for a more classic look, the Black Brown color is available which features a rich cocoa hue in a fingerprint-free finish.
On the Reno12 Pro, Nebula Black features a two-tone matte-gloss design with two halves separated naturally by a metallic ribbon that runs horizontally across the back of the phone. Reno12 Pro features the biggest display evolution in the history of the Reno Series: the Infinite View Screen. Using a micro-curve design, it combines the aesthetics of a curved screen with the grip of a flat screen, offering immersive viewing.
The 6.7-inch, 120Hz OLED display offers a wide color gamut and hardware protection against blue light. OPPO’s Splash Touch technology ensures the display works even in wet conditions. Additionally, the Reno12 is the world’s first smartphone to use Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, offering advanced protection against drops and scratches.
Reno12 and Reno12 Pro introduce several features based on generative artificial intelligence. Among these, AI Eraser allows you to remove disturbing elements from photographs with a simple touch, while AI Clear Face and AI Best Face improve the quality of group photos. Additionally, AI Studio allows the creation of digital avatars and artistic portraits from a single photo. The AI suite also includes the AI Toolbox, which leverages the Google Gemini language model to deliver features such as AI Write, AI Speak and AI Summary, improving productivity and efficiency. AI Recording Summary allows you to extract and organize text summaries from voice recordings.
The main camera of both models uses a Sony LYT-600 sensor with autofocus and optical image stabilization. Portrait mode with 2x zoom allows you to achieve professional-quality bokeh effects. The Reno12 Pro features a 50MP Telephoto Portrait Camera and a new 50MP Selfie Camera. The 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy platform delivers superior power efficiency through innovations in SoC, memory and storage performance. The 5,000mAh battery, with high energy density, supports 80W Oppo SuperVooc fast charging, allowing a full charge in just 46 minutes.
The AI smartphone is also advanced in reception: Oppo’s AI LinkBoost technology, composed of nine antennas, optimizes signal reception and network selection. The new BeaconLink function allows long-distance Bluetooth communications, up to 200 meters, in emergency situations. Oppo Reno12 Pro is available immediately at the price of 599.99 euros, while Reno12 will be available in the next few days at 499.99 euros.
