Israel carried out air strike on Lebanon, 33 people died
Israel has carried out air strikes on Lebanon. Lebanon said on Tuesday Israeli airstrikes killed 33 people across the country, including many who were displaced by the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The attacks not only targeted Hezbollah strongholds such as Beirut’s southern suburbs, but also areas where the Iran-backed group has not had a significant presence in the past.
Lebanon’s health ministry updated the death toll from an attack on a town in the Chouf region, south of Beirut, to at least 15 people, up from 12 previously reported.
“The Israeli attack on Jaun in the Chouf district… killed 15 people, including eight women and four children,” it said.
The ministry said twelve others were injured in the attack.
The official National News Agency (NNA) said the building housed displaced people fleeing bombings by Israel in its war against Hezbollah.
