Apple recently introduced Apple Intelligence to the technological landscape, an innovative artificial intelligence system destined to revolutionize the experience of using Apple devices. Launched in the USA these days via a free software update (iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1), Apple Intelligence is currently available in most countries, including Italy, but only for users who use their devices in American English . Despite this initial limitation, Apple is working to extend language support to other geographic areas. Mac users in the European Union can already benefit from some Apple Intelligence features in American English thanks to macOS Sequoia 15.1, and soon it will be available to iPhone and iPad users too. In fact, starting from April 2025, Apple Intelligence will also arrive on European mobile devices, bringing with it a series of innovative functions.
Among the most anticipated innovations are the advanced writing tools, which promise to improve users’ productivity and creativity, and Genmoji, personalized emojis that allow you to better express your emotions. Additionally, Siri has been redesigned to offer more accurate and natural language understanding, and the integration with ChatGPT opens the door to new possibilities for interaction and conversation. Apple Intelligence’s expansion isn’t limited to Europe. In December 2024, language support will extend to local variants of English spoken in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
And throughout 2025, additional updates will arrive that will make Apple Intelligence accessible in more languages, including Chinese, Korean, French, Japanese, multiple variations of English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, German and Vietnamese. To use Apple Intelligence, you must have a latest generation Apple device. Compatibility is guaranteed for iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1 chip and later, and Mac with M1 chip and later.
