SBI and PNB
State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) have said that they are hurt by the surprise decision of the Karnataka government to stop all transactions with them. They are in talks with the state government for an “amicable solution” to the matter. The Karnataka government has ordered all departments to close their accounts in SBI, PNB, citing financial irregularities. All departments of the state government will have to immediately withdraw their deposits and investments from these banks.
Ola Electric
Ola Electric Mobility’s consolidated loss in the April-June quarter increased to Rs 347 crore on an annual basis. The company had suffered a loss of Rs 267 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous year. Ola Electric Mobility said in a notice to the stock market that its operating income in the quarter under review was Rs 1,644 crore, while it was Rs 1,243 crore in the same quarter last year.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has received a show cause notice from the Customs Authority demanding payment of difference in duty of more than Rs 3.8 crore. The company has received this notice from the Customs (Import) Commissioner’s Office in Mumbai. According to the company information, in this show cause notice, the authority has asked the company to explain the reason for claiming customs duty exemption on import of certain categories of goods and pay the difference in duty of Rs 3,81,37,748 along with applicable interest and penalty.
Hindustan Zinc
Vedanta Group company Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) is planning to make a special dividend payment of Rs 8,000 crore to its shareholders in the current financial year. According to sources, the board of directors of HZL may meet on Tuesday, in which the special dividend payment for the current financial year will be considered and approved. Out of this, about 30 percent or Rs 2400 crore will go to the Center.
Reliance Infrastructure
Reliance Infrastructure Limited’s loss has come down to Rs 69.47 crore in the April-June quarter of the current financial year. The company had suffered a loss of Rs 494.83 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. Total income has increased to Rs 7,256.21 crore, which was Rs 5,645.32 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year.
