New Delhi: The Central Government has issued a warning to 11 states, including Kerala, against the spread of the Zero Type-2 virus, which is spreading the disease, as the number of cases of Covid-19 is declining in the country on a daily basis. The Center has said that zero type-2 dengue cases are on the rise in the country and necessary precautions should be taken.

Apart from Kerala, the Center has issued warnings to Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. These states must take all necessary precautions. Test kits should be stocked. States must collect the necessary larvae and other drugs. The central government has also directed the setting up of help desks for fever.

The Center has warned that zero-type dengue cases are on the rise in the country and states should take necessary precautions. “Zero type is more dangerous than other diseases,” Rajesh Bhushan, Union Health Secretary, told a Covid review meeting with the Center. He also said in the review meeting that situations where people congregate should be avoided as much as possible.

The meeting noted that despite the decline in the number of Covid cases per day in the country, Covid positivity rates are still high in 15 states. Covid positivity rate is still above five per cent in 70 districts. In 34 districts, the positive rate has crossed 10 per cent, the health secretary said. Gatherings during festive times should be avoided as much as possible as there is no large reduction in Covid cases. The Center also said that strict instructions should be followed in malls, markets and places of worship.
