Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced the launch of ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’, which aims to provide free treatment to senior citizens above 60 years of age in Delhi.
Speaking at a public event, Kejriwal said, “In old age, one thing troubles everyone: as age increases, many diseases surround the person. The biggest concern is how to get treatment. I also know people who come from good families, but their children do not take care of them. In old age, I have seen elders from good families suffering as if their children had abandoned them. But you don’t need to worry, your son is still alive.”
He further said, today I am going to announce Sanjeevani scheme for the elderly of Delhi. Our elderly people above 60 years of age will get free treatment. We will bring this plan after the elections and pass it.”
Kejriwal further said that this scheme will provide free treatment in both government and private hospitals. He said, “Whether someone wants to get treatment in a government or private hospital, their entire treatment will be free. There will be no limits, everyone will be treated. Whether rich or poor, everyone will be treated free of cost. There will be no upper limit.”
