The good news at the end of the lunar year for Xuan Son is that for the first time, he has entered the top 10 most influential figures on social networks in December 2024 (according to statistics from BuzzMetrics) thanks to his brilliant performance in AFF Cup 2024. He ranks 4th on this list. This number is a testament to the “heat” that Xuan Son has created and the level of love fans have for him.

Before leaving the hospital, Xuan Son shared positive images on his personal page. He appeared with a cheerful image and continued to practice recovery exercises after surgery. According to BS-CKII Vu Tu Nam, head of the Department of Arthroscopic Surgery & Sports Medicine, Vinmec Times City Hospital, Xuan Son’s surgery requires perfection and individualization in each step. Xuan Son’s injury was not just a simple fracture but a complex bone fracture, with a large fragment of 7cm and the risk of the fractures splitting into many smaller pieces. Combining bone with the intramedullary nailing technique must ensure that it does not affect the natural healing process of bone and surrounding healthy structures.
The biggest challenge is to calculate all the steps in detail, from nail type, nail size, nail location, to percutaneous correction technique without opening to fracture. Thanks to cooperation between departments and simulation technology, the surgery was successful.

MSc Ho Ngoc Minh, Executive Director of Motion lab and Doctor of Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine Surgery, Vinmec Times City Hospital, said that when Xuan Son can return to practice depends a lot on factors, including time and recovery. At a minimum, Xuan Son can do high-intensity training after 6 months, but on average it takes up to 9 months to return to the official football field.
Doctor Ho Ngoc Minh assessed that with this injury, Xuan Son has the ability to regain his form. However, the final result depends heavily on close coordination between doctors, athletes and coaching staff. Previous achievements have proven: many athletes such as Thai Thi Thao and Chuong Thi Kieu have returned to their peak after serious injuries. This strengthens confidence in a successful recovery for Xuan Son.

Xuan Son received support from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Club, Vinmec Hospital as well as great encouragement and interest from fans during the recovery process.
