The Taliban is in a dilemma over government formation in Afghanistan. Taliban leaders are trying to form a government that is acceptable to all. However, this time there are many other reasons for the delay in government formation. So far it was expected that the Taliban could announce the formation of a new government in Kabul on Saturday. Perhaps this time the responsibility of the leadership of the new government can be given to the co-founder of the organization, Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar. But it didn’t happen.
Kabul was captured by the Taliban on 15 August. For the second time since then, the Taliban has postponed the announcement of the formation of a new government. According to Taliban spokesman Mujahid, the announcement about the new government and cabinet members will now be made next week. However, the question remains why is the Taliban delaying in announcing the government in Afghanistan. If we look at the situation in Afghanistan, it is clear that there can be some other reasons for this.
On the one hand, while the tussle between the Taliban and the Haqqani network over Afghan power-sharing continues, the Taliban’s tensions in Panjshir remain the same. The Taliban recently claimed that their organization had reached a final consensus on government formation, but in reality there is nothing like it and there are still many obstacles to it.

The political tussle between the Haqqani network and the Taliban continues. According to Maryam Soleimankhil, a former female parliamentarian from Afghanistan, there is a chair battle going on between the Haqqani network and the Taliban. Maryam also claimed that Haqqani network leaders Anas Haqqani and Khalil Haqqani had clashes with Taliban leaders Mullah Baradar and Mullah Yacoub.
From what i am hearing DG of ISI has come into Kabul to make sure baradar doesn’t lead this government and haqqani does. There are a lot of disagreements amongst the Taliban facts and Baradar has called all his men off of attacking Panjshir. #SanctionPakistan #FreeAfghanistan

According to former MP Maryam, Pakistan does not want Taliban leader Mullah Baradar to lead the country. At the same time, the Haqqani network is demanding a large stake in the government and the post of defense minister, while the Taliban does not seem ready to give it up. In addition, there is a tussle between the Haqqani network and the Taliban at some other points as well.
At the same time, according to some media reports, due to differences between the Taliban and Haqqani, the Taliban leaders are unable to carry out the process of government formation in Afghanistan. While the dispute between the Taliban’s political office in Doha and the Haqqani network continues to grow. Mullah Omar’s son Mullah Yacoub wants to take over the role of head of the powerful Taliban military commission. This position is considered highly respected and powerful in the Taliban government.
By the way, it is also being said that the political leadership of the Taliban has agreed to include the Haqqani network in the government and give some important posts, but the post of Defense Minister is not included in it. This is the reason that Anas Haqqani was also entrusted with the charge of the security of the capital immediately after the capture of Kabul. This decision angered Mulla Yakub.
On Saturday, the Pakistani ISI chief was on a tour of Afghanistan. The ISI chief is believed to have traveled to Kabul to resolve the ongoing dispute between the Taliban and the Haqqani network. Pakistan has sent ISI chief Lt Gen Faiz Hamid to Kabul. Pakistan wants the Haqqani network to dominate Afghanistan for its own benefit.
One reason for the delay in the formation of the government of the Taliban is also being told that this organization has captured the whole of Afghanistan, but Panjshir is such a province, where it has still not been captured. The Taliban made several attempts to capture Panjshir, but so far it has faced defeat. Due to the continuous defeat in Panjshir, the Taliban are also facing constant trouble. Many of his battles are being killed at the hands of Ahmad Masood’s fighters.
