The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has demanded action against a promotional video of the Delhi government which allegedly showed a large crowd of school children shooting advertisements without wearing masks and observing physical distancing. In a letter to Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev, the commission said it has received a complaint against a promotional video in which Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also seen.

The NCPCR said, “The said promotional video shows a large crowd of school children shooting for the advertisement without wearing masks and maintaining physical distance amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.” This is in violation of the COVID protocol issued by the Government of India and endangers the lives of minor school children in Delhi.

The commission said that the video is in violation of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and the guidelines issued by the Center in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In view of the sensitivity of the matter, it is requested to take action in this matter and share its report with the Commission within seven days,” the letter issued on Thursday said.
