From there, the candidate, with many hours of flight in political contests, strove to underline the discourse of the “Europe of the people”, which she translated into plans to fight cancer, ALS, mental health, the emancipation of young people, the rural world or the lowering of the shopping basket. The citizen message was expressed in certain concrete proposals, although many had no relation to the policies from Brussels.
Mistakes:
The worst thing is the tiresome anti-sanchista rant. The Popular Party suffers the hassle of fighting two battles at the same time: head-on, against Pedro Sánchez; in the rear, against an extreme right that is biting his ankles like a stubborn Chihuahua that does not let him advance. And that has been palpable in Dolors Montserrat, forced to keep her eyes on the rearview mirror and camouflage her pacts with Vox and her open arms to the European extreme right. On the contrary, and instead of focusing on the core, the European, he prioritized the hyperboles that are characterizing Feijóo’s PP: Sánchez is Puigdemont, he agrees on laws with criminals, he gets sexual predators out of jail, he gives away amnesty and hides the corruption.
