When will Virat Kohli take a break from cricket, wants India to win Asia Cup and T20 World Cup

Mumbai: Star batsman Virat Kohli has expressed his desire to win this year’s Asia Cup and T20 World Cup for India. The former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain last scored a century in any format in November 2019. He has had a poor IPL 2022 season as well, but the veteran batsman showed signs of returning to form with his scintillating knock (73 off 54 balls) as RCB thrashed Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets on Thursday.

“I want India to win the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup,” Kohli told Star Sports. Several experts, including former India coach Ravi Shastri, had advised Kohli to take a break from cricket. Acknowledging the concerns of Shastri and other former cricketers, Kohli indicated that he may take a break from the game. He clearly believes that such a decision should not be taken lightly and he will consider it only when he discusses the situation with the team management and India head coach Rahul Dravid.

He said, ‘It is a great thing to think about the amount of cricket we play these days and the amount of cricket I have played in the last 10-11 years. It’s a matter of balancing the bat once, which is right for you as an individual to move forward and I will definitely discuss that with everyone involved. Rahul bhai, Indian team management, everyone who is involved. I will make the best decision for myself and of course for the team.
