WhatsApp has announced major updates to its messaging app, introducing a fresher, more streamlined design, along with a new, even deeper dark mode. Among the main innovations is a new color palette, chosen after evaluating over 35 different shades. The new palette focuses on deeper tones, designed to reduce eye strain in low light conditions. Dark mode, a feature much appreciated by many users, now becomes even darker to make messages easier to read. Another significant change is the introduction of a native bottom navigation bar on Android, designed to help users quickly find what they’re looking for.
The bar, already available on iOS for some time, allows you to easily access chats, updates, communities and calls. For iOS users, WhatsApp makes it easier to send photos and videos with a new layout for attachments. Instead of a full-screen menu, users will now see an expandable panel that allows them to clearly view options for submitting media, polls, documents and more. WhatsApp also updates its icons with a new rounded and outlined style and refreshes the default background in chats, offering a more modern and engaging experience.
