On 22 February, supporters of Muzaffarnagar MP and Union Minister of State Sanjeev Balyan and villagers were attacked in Shoram village of Shahpur police station. Balyan also has to face opposition
In western UP, the party has given the BJP leaders of the area the responsibility to convince the angry farmers from the BJP. But these leaders are facing opposition in the villages. Sanjeev Balyan, MP from Muzaffarnagar and Union Minister of State is also facing opposition. On 21 February, Shamli raised slogans against him. Then on 22 February, there was a fight in the village of Shoram. However, Sanjeev says that he went to another program in Shoram village not to convince the farmers.
Bittu of Shoram village claimed that he is the booth president of BJP. Sanjeev Balyan supporters knew this but then they were beaten. Similarly, farmer Sanjeev Balyan told that he has been voting for BJP twice, yet the MP’s supporters beat him. The farmers say that this fight has happened due to support to the farmers movement and opposition to the laws of the central government.
However, Sanjeev Balyan said that to call them farmers is to make fun of farmers. The people who raised the slogan on 21 February were from the Samajwadi Party and the people involved in the skirmish on 22 belonged to the RLD.
