A funeral ceremony was held in Ankara for Expert Corporal Cengizhan Kaplan, who was martyred as a result of the explosion of a hand-made explosive (EYP) planted by terrorists in the Operation Claw-Lightning Operation region in northern Iraq.
In addition to the family and relatives of the martyr, Vice President Fuat Oktay, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer attended the funeral prayer at the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque at noon. Chief of the General Staff Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander General Musa Avsever, Air Forces Commander General Hasan Küçükakyüz, Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, Ankara Police Chief Servet Yılmaz, AK Party Secretary General Fatih Şahin and Çankaya District Governor Mete Buhara joined.
After the prayer, the martyr Expert Corporal Kaplan, who was sent off with a military ceremony from the mosque, will be buried in Elmadağ Aşağıkamışlı Village Cemetery.
It was learned that Kaplan, born in 1998, joined the Turkish Armed Forces two years ago and is preparing for marriage.
Martyr Muhammed Öztürk was bid farewell to his last journey in his hometown Kastamonu
The funeral of Private Muhammed Öztürk (23), who was brought to Kastamonu Airport by plane, was taken to his father’s house in Taşköprü district after the ceremony held here. The body of the martyr was taken to Taşköprü Square after receiving halal and praying.
Martyr Öztürk was buried in Kurbantepe Martyrdom after the funeral prayer led by Kastamonu Mufti Mustafa Bilgiç at noon.
The ceremony was attended by the martyr’s mother Semra, his father Muharrem Öztürk and his relatives, as well as AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım, Deputy Minister of Interior Sabri Erdil, Governor Avni Çakır, AK Party Kastamonu Deputy Metin Çelik, Taşköprü District Governor Çağlar Partal, Kastamonu Mayor Galip Vidinlioğlu, Taşköprü Mayor Abdullah Çatal and citizens attended.
