The United States and the United Kingdom on Tuesday accused the Taliban movement of having committed a massacre against civilians in Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan.

The US and British embassies in Kabul released a joint statement that the Taliban had committed a crime against humanity in the Spin Boldak neighborhood of Kandahar, without giving further details.

The statement called for a full investigation into this matter, stressing the need to end the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

“If you can’t control your ‘fighters’ now, you won’t be able to do anything when you come to power,” the same statement read.

Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission reported that the Taliban had killed 40 civilians and looted their money in the Spin Boldak neighborhood.

The level of violence in Afghanistan has intensified since the beginning of last May, with the start of the final phase of the withdrawal of American forces, which should be completed by next September 11 and this, on order. the President of the United States, Joe Biden,
