Warner Bros. Games has announced the acquisition of Player First Games, the developer of the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus. Player First Games will continue to operate under the leadership of co-founders Tony Huynh and Chris White. Studio Head Huynh and Chief Technology Officer White will report to Carlos Barbosa, Vice President and Studio Head, Warner Bros. Games San Diego. “We have worked with Player First Games for several years to create and launch MultiVersus, and we are thrilled to welcome this talented team to Warner Bros. Games,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Games, in a press release. “The brilliant and creative team at Player First Games adds additional development capabilities to our already extensive capabilities.”
Tony Huynh, co-founder and studio head of Player First Games, added: “Our team is thrilled to join the Warner Bros. Games family and we believe this will be a positive for MultiVersus as a whole. We are working to make the MultiVersus experience the best it can be and having our development team integrated with the publisher is optimal for players.” MultiVersus is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
