Virender Sehwag’s advice to Ravindra Jadeja – ‘Put your phone on airplane mode’

New Delhi: Former Indian team opener Virender Sehwag has given an advice to Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja. He has said that for the rest of the Indian Premier League 2022, you should put your phone on airplane mode. He said that if he pays too much attention to the reactions of the fans to the poor start of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the start of this season, then he will not be able to make the right decisions on the field.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni had left the captaincy earlier this season. And it will be a big challenge for Ravindra Jadeja to fulfill this responsibility. Jadeja’s team did not start well. The team’s match is going on with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. Earlier, the team has played three matches in the season and they have not won a single match. This is the first time in the history of IPL that Chennai Super Kings has lost its first three matches. Fans are obviously quite disappointed to see such a performance of the team.

Sehwag feels that Jadeja should stay away from social media. He gave the example of many big Indian players who have stayed away from social media in difficult times. It also includes Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sehwag told Cricbuzz, ‘My advice to Jadeja is that all these things will continue. There is no need to pay too much attention to them. If you think on them, you will not be able to concentrate on the field because whenever you take a decision you will be constantly thinking, ‘What will people say? What will the fans think? What will the teammates think?’ In such a situation, you will not be able to take the right decisions. Put your phone in airplane mode. During Covid, you are not getting newspapers in the same way. You can turn off the TV. So stay in your room and enjoy. The more you see, listen and read these things, the worse your mind will be. Whenever you want to update something on social media, put your phone on airplane mode and don’t delete it again.

Sehwag further said, ‘I have seen this with Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He did not look at his mobile phone whenever he went through difficult times. He used to stay away from TV or even newspapers. I think Jadeja should practice and have fun playing video games.
