Rematch with old opponents once met in Southeast Asia futsal
Responding to questions about the Vietnam futsal team’s preparation for this tournament and the team’s goals, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: “We have carefully prepared for this tournament with nearly 6 weeks of focus. We try to improve our tactics and research solutions to confront each team in Group D. The goal of the Vietnamese women’s futsal team is to reach the top of the group.”

At 5:30 p.m. on January 15, the defending champion of the Southeast Asia futsal tournament – the Vietnamese women’s futsal team – will enter the opening match against host Myanmar. Regarding the opponent in the opening match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang commented: “The Vietnamese women’s futsal team met the Myanmar women’s futsal team in the recent Southeast Asia tournament, so they already know information about the opponent. Match schedule of the Vietnamese women’s futsal team
The 2025 Asian women’s futsal qualifying round kicks off on January 11, 2025, with 18 teams competing. Three teams are exempt from qualifying, including the host of the final round (VCK) – China, and the two finalists of the previous tournament including Japan and Iran.
18 teams are divided into four groups, including 2 groups of 4 teams (Groups B and D), 2 groups of 5 teams (Groups A and C). Group A plays in Thailand, Group B in Indonesia, Group C in Uzbekistan and Group D in Myanmar. After the qualifying round, each group selects the first and second teams to participate in the finals. Along with that, the 3rd ranked team with the best performance will attend the finals in May 2025.
