A Hindu temple is being constructed in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This will be the UAE’s first traditional stone temple. The members of the BAPS Hindu Temple Abu Dhabi Project claim that the age of this temple is about 1000 years, that is, the temple will stand firmly for one thousand years. According to reports, the first phase of the construction of the temple has been completed.
Talking to Khaleej Times, project members said that the foundation work of the temple has been completed. After the arrival of artisans from India, the work of installing pink stones will also be completed. Uploading a video on YouTube, the people involved in the construction of the temple revealed new things related to the project. Religious leader and spokesperson of BAPS Hindu Temple Pujya Brahmavihari Swamy told that a thick layer of sandstone has been laid on the land of the temple located in Abu Mureikhah.
The age of the temple at least 1000 years
He told that it is very hard and strong and is up to one meter below the surface. Project structural engineer Dr Kong Sia Keong said, “I am honored to be part of this team as it is the first time a project is being worked on that will last at least 1000 years. Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) organization is constructing this temple at a cost of 450 dirhams i.e. about 888 crore rupees.
Painted pictures and stories from Hindu epics
After the foundation work is completed, the temple will be shaped by placing carved stones and marbles on top. According to a report by Gulf News, the final design of the traditional stone temple and the pictures of the hand-carved stone pillar were released in November which have been made in India. Artists from Rajasthan and Gujarat have made them in India. The pink stone of Rajasthan and the marble of Macedonia of Italy will be used in the temple. Photos and stories from Hindu epics will also be depicted on this temple.
