The Vera Wang brand has been independently owned since its founding in 1990, with designer Vera Wang as the sole owner and reporting annual sales of more than $700 million.
The WHP Global management team acquired the IP of this brand and announced it to the media. Accordingly, as part of the agreement, designer Vera Wang continues to be the founder and creative director of the brand, and joins WHP as a shareholder. The group also owns fashion brands including Rag & Bone, G-Star, Isaac Mizrahi, Anne Klein, Bonobos and Joe’s Jeans, children’s retailer Toys R Us and, as of June, the mall brand Express shopping. The remaining terms of the Vera Wang deal have not been disclosed.
