Getafe saved a game that seemed to have been lost with a penalty goal, converted by Arambarri, with little more than extra time remaining. Valencia receives another cruel blow in a disastrous season after almost an hour defending as best they could the 0-1 scoreline achieved by Enzo Barrenechea in the first half. His rival was superior in the game, but it didn’t matter if he couldn’t equalize the match. Until the ball against Caufrier’s hand ruined all his effort.

Rubén Baraja immediately understood that that goal was a treasure that they had to protect with everything. It was not the day to get fancy. It was the day to lock yourself back and stay focused, with a very high intensity, to contain all of Getafe’s attempts to balance the game. Three centre-backs, two back mid-centres, no frills. All for three points for the bottom team. But the bet did not go well for Pipo, who suffered the blow.
Getafe still had a few minutes left in which they were about to sentence Valencia. The black and white team was saved by the usual one, Mamardashvili, who showed two decisive hands to not leave the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum empty. Even so, Valencia will host Madrid the next day again in the last position of the standings.
Getafe and Valencia splashed in the mud of LaLiga. The first half of the game at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez is better forgotten. It was a thick game. The two teams had serious difficulties in reaching the rival area. Two sets with very little edge. At first it seemed that Getafe had the advantage that their legs were not shaking, a problem that spreads in a Valencia that was not prepared, who is, to be bottom. On Monday, Mestalla burned and Rubén Baraja’s team, still in shock, tried to revive themselves on this visit where they found nothing but more doubts.
But just as sometimes bad things come, as Baraja complained after losing to Las Palmas, other times the coin falls and comes out heads. A very vulgar Valencia found a prize in a corner in which a shot by Enzo Barrenechea, the first one his team made on goal, ended in a goal. It seemed like it might be enough. But it wasn’t.
