New Delhi: Adar Poonawala, head of the Serum Institute of India, has said that the country plans to make the vaccine available to children within six months. Poonawala has said that the Novavax Covid vaccine will be launched in six months.

Adar Poonawala’s words were uttered at a virtual conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry. The vaccine for children is currently in the final stages of testing. Poonawala said it shows good results in children up to the age of three.

The vaccine has already been exported to countries such as Indonesia. In addition, AstraZeneca and Sputnik vaccines are manufactured by the Serum Institute of India. The Serum Institute is one of the largest vaccine manufacturers in the world. About 1.5 billion doses of vaccine are produced here each year.

At the same time, Adar Poonawala pointed out that some countries have taken only 10 per cent or 15 per cent of the vaccine. He said vaccination in these areas should reach 60-70 per cent.

Meanwhile, the number of Omicon cases in the country has risen to 45. The number of cases has risen to 45 with four new cases being reported in Delhi today.
