Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at the PM’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi . After this, Yogi also met BJP President JP Nadda.
Let us inform that Yogi Adityanath, who reached the capital Delhi on a two-day visit, had earlier met Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on Thursday.
What is the meaning of these meetings?
Just a few days ago, BJP’s National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and the party’s state in-charge Radha Mohan Singh had visited Lucknow.
The visit came at a time when there were reports of lack of coordination between the BJP and the Yogi government as well as the inability of party leaders to get the bureaucratic work done.
After this, after Adityanath’s sudden arrival in Delhi and meeting the central leaders, once again the speculation of cabinet expansion in the state has intensified.
According to news agency PTI, these speculations got stronger when sources claimed that Nadda met Prime Minister Modi and former Union Minister Jitin Prasada, who had joined BJP a day earlier, met Chief Minister Adityanath.
No official information was given about the meeting between Nadda and the prime minister, but Prasad termed his meeting with the chief minister as a courtesy call.
AK Sharma, a former administrative officer and member of the Legislative Council, who recently joined BJP, is also in Delhi. Sources say that he has met some central leaders of the party. Sharma is considered close to Prime Minister Modi.
BJP leaders or senior party functionaries did not give any official information about this round of meetings, but sources claimed that this exercise is about the induction of some other leaders including Prasad and Sharma in the Uttar Pradesh government.
What did Yogi say after meeting Shah?
After meeting Shah, Adityanath had tweeted, “Received his guidance from Union Home Minister Amit Shah by meeting him in a courtesy call in New Delhi. Hearty thanks to the Home Minister for giving his valuable time for the visit.
Along with this tweet, Adityanath also shared a picture in which he is seen handing over a copy of the “Solution to Migrant Crisis” report to Shah.
PTI quoted sources as saying that during the meeting with Shah, which lasted for about one and a half years, Adityanath also discussed other political issues, including the second wave of Covid-19 in the state.
When Shah and Adityanath’s meeting was going on, Apna Dal President and former Union Minister Anupriya Patel also reached Shah’s residence. Shah tweeted and informed about the meeting with Adityanath and Patel and also shared pictures.
Nishad Party President Sanjay Kumar Nishad of Uttar Pradesh and Sant Kabirnagar MP Praveen Nishad also met Shah.
Shah’s meeting with Patel and Nishad party leaders is being seen as an attempt by the BJP to woo allies ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Patel was a minister in the central government during Prime Minister Modi’s first term, but when he became the Prime Minister for the second time, he did not give the leader of his party a place in his cabinet.
