The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has approved the proposal of Ganga Expressway on Thursday. The construction of Ganga Expressway will cost a total of 36 thousand 230 crores. State government spokesperson and cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi. He said that the network of expressways would play a major role in making Uttar Pradesh a thousand billion dollar economy in the coming times. The Ganga Expressway will be the country’s largest expressway being built through a state.
Siddharth Nath Singh informed that till now 92.02 percent land has been acquired for Ganga Expressway. Tender documents are being issued for this. Singh said that this expressway will be of six lanes which can be increased to eight lanes. He told that there are four packages inside it. The cost of each package will range from Rs 5000 to 5800 crores. According to him, the entire process of tender will be completed within 60 days and today the cabinet has given its complete approval so that things do not have to be considered again and again and the work of developing it can be done faster.
Ganga Expressway will be constructed on PPP model
Singh informed that the construction of Ganga Expressway will be done on private public partnership ie PPP model. The maximum speed of vehicles on this expressway has been fixed at 120 kmph. There will also be an airstrip on it and the Chief Minister has said that it will be clarified where industrial clusters will be built on this. Provision has also been made for public facilities on the expressway at nine places. In future it will be increased further.
36230 crores will cost
The spokesperson of the UP government said that the estimated total cost of civil and construction on the Ganga Expressway project is Rs 36230 crore. 19754 crore will be spent on civil construction. He said that there is also GST of 2371 crore on this. This takes the total to 22125 crores and a provision of Rs 9255 crores has been made for the purchase of land.

Approval to build airport in Lalitpur
Singh said that in the cabinet meeting, approval was also given on different aspects regarding the construction of an airport in Lalitpur. He said that an airport of the state is being prepared at Lalitpur which will be for small aircraft in the first phase and in the coming time it will be made an airport of international standard as a defense corridor is being built there as well. A ‘drug park’ is also being prepared there. In view of this, this airport will become very important, he said.
