Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh of Allahabad High Court was so impressed by the merit of a Dalit girl student that he himself paid her fees. In the petition filed in the High Court, the student told that her father’s kidney is bad. Due to the bad financial condition of the family due to her illness and Covid, she could not deposit the fees. He wrote a letter to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority seeking time to deposit the fees, but got no response. He was forced to come to court. He had demanded that some more time be given for arranging the fees.

Good performance from the beginning
Actually the student is a Dalit. He had secured 95 percent marks in class 10th and 94 percent marks in class 12th. She appeared in JEE exam and secured 92 percent marks in Mains and secured 2062nd rank in SC category. After that she appeared in JEE Advanced exam in which she was declared successful on 15 October 2021 and her rank came to 1469.

Got seat in IIT BHU
After this, he was allotted a seat in IIT BHU in the five-year course related to mathematics and computer. But she could not arrange 15 thousand required for admission and time ran out. She could not enroll. He had filed a petition demanding that he be given some more time to make arrangements for the fees.

Couldn’t even arrange a lawyer
The girl student is so poor that she could not even arrange a lawyer for herself. On the request of the court, advocates Sarvesh Dubey and Samta Rao came forward and assisted the court in presenting the student’s side.

Father’s dialysis is done twice a week
The student said in the petition that her father’s kidney was defective and he had to undergo a transplant. Right now he has dialysis twice a week. In such a situation, due to the financial condition of her family due to her father’s illness and Covid’s death, she could not deposit the fees on time. While she has been a meritorious student from the very beginning.
