In July-August last year, the country’s protests and the rebellion in Bangladesh saw huge violence in the country. Students staged large -scale protests against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, who was overthrown in Bangladesh. The United Nations Human Rights Office on Wednesday estimated that at least 1,400 people were killed in the action.

More than 1,400 people were killed in protests between July 1 and August 15 last year, the Human Rights Office said. Thousands were injured. Most of them died in the firing of Bangladesh security forces. According to the report, 12 to 13% of the deceased were children. Bangladesh police say 44 officers were also killed. Human Rights Chief Volker Turk said illegal killings, widespread arbitrary arrests, detention and violence were made to suppress protests in Bangladesh with the coordination of higher security officers.
