This big-hearted mother-in-law of Kandivali is being discussed and praised everywhere these days.
Doctor advised for kidney transplant
It is being told that Amisha (daughter-in-law) came to know about kidney problem in November 2022. Ameesha was examined at Nanavati Max Hospital, where the doctor said that both the kidneys were damaged, due to which Ameesha’s condition was deteriorating day by day. As soon as this was known, the family living in Satyam Tower Society located in Thakur Village of Kandivali East got a big shock. Meanwhile, the doctor also advised for kidney transplant. In such a situation, Ameesha’s husband could not give her a kidney due to sugar.
Mother-in-law said – I will give kidney to daughter-in-law
Seeing all the hopes of saving Ameesha (daughter-in-law) ended, mother-in-law Prabha Kantilal decided to donate her kidney. Mother-in-law Prabha Kantilal said, ‘I will give kidney to my daughter-in-law.’ During this, 70-year-old Prabha Kantilal (mother-in-law) did not agree even after several persuasions by the family members and remained adamant on her decision. Prabha Kantilal (mother-in-law) said, ‘My three sons were scared, all refused. I said that I am completely fit, I will give kidney to daughter-in-law. She further said, ‘I see her as my daughter, not as daughter-in-law.’
Khushi-Khushi daughter-in-law’s kidney donation
Kidney transplant was successfully done on 1 August 2023 at Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital. The mother-in-law happily won everyone’s heart by donating a kidney to her daughter-in-law. Prabha (mother-in-law) was discharged from the hospital last Friday. On reaching home, the elder daughter-in-law welcomed Prabha Kantilal (mother-in-law) with flowers. Prabha Kantilal says, ‘I am very happy that I could donate kidney to Ameesha. My daughter-in-law’s life was saved, what can be more important than this.
Family doctor Dr. Chandrakant Lallan said that, in his 44-year career as a doctor, he has never seen such a donation. Dr Lallan said, ‘Most organ donors in India are women, who donate these organs to their spouses, parents or children, but it is rare for a mother-in-law to donate a kidney to her daughter-in-law.’
