Land boat racing attracts the participation of many athletes and fierce competition
When it comes to boat racing, many people immediately think of rowers competing on the river regardless of hot weather, wind or rain. With motorboat racing, athletes have much better competition conditions than when playing on land or in the gym, but the effort they put in is no less than in traditional boat racing.
A representative of the Vietnam Boat Racing Federation said that practicing boat racing with machines is a way to supplement technique and physical strength for boat racing athletes. When exercising, athletes sit in a balanced position on an exercise machine with an integrated electronic system that measures speed parameters, distance traveled, pulling power, and the practitioner’s indexes to perform pulling. When athletes first start practicing boat racing, getting used to motorboat racing is an exercise to stabilize technique, increase physical strength and flexibility before getting on the boat to practice in-depth movements and techniques.
Host Ho Chi Minh City leads the overall table after the first day of competition thanks to winning the silver medal compared to the Da Nang and Quang Tri teams.
Along with traditional boat racing, motorboat racing has been held for more than 10 years and currently has international tournaments such as Southeast Asia and Asia. Vietnamese athletes also adapt very well to motorboat racing.
