Union minister and BJP’s star campaigner Smriti Irani has also been infected with coronavirus in Bihar assembly elections. She himself informed about this by tweeting.
Smiriti Irani tweeted, “It is rare for me to search for words while making an announcement; hence here’s me keeping it simple — I’ve tested positive for #COVID and would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest.”
A day earlier, there was also a report of Union Minister Ramdas Athawale being Corona positive.
On Twitter, people have wished for quick recovery. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also tweeted and said- I pray for your speedy recovery Smriti Irani ji. IAS Sonal Goyal has wished Smriti to get well soon.
Many celebrities including Union Minister Gajendrasing Shekhawat, BJP leader Swatantra Dev Singh, film actress Divya Dutta have wished him well soon.
Corona cases in the country reached 80 million
The total number of cases of coronavirus in the country has reached 79,90,322 with 43,893 new cases and 508 deaths in 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday that there has been a decrease in deaths along with corona cases. Of the total cases, 6,10,803 cases are currently active, while 72,59,509 have been discharged from the hospital after recovery. At the same time, 1,20,010 people have lost their lives due to this disease. On 26 October, the number of deaths in a single day was 480, the lowest in recent times.
Data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare showed that while the recovery rate is 90.85 percent, the death rate is 1.50 percent. The ministry tweeted on Wednesday, “Indicating a historic achievement, India has registered a steady decline in average daily new Covid-19 cases in the last five weeks.”
Maharashtra remains the most affected state with a total of 16,54,028 cases and 43,463 deaths. It is followed by Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
