ACB Super Cup – semi-final – day 1
If the classic of the first semi-final of the Super Cup was as tense as expected, the duel between UCAM Murcia and Unicaja did not lower the decibels. The Andalusian team won thanks to the weight of its two stars, Osetkowski’s 19 points and Perry’s 17, too much for a local team that kept its fists raised until the last quarter, which ended with a partial score of 17-24.
The match featured two teams that have been on the rise in recent months. UCAM Murcia, coached by Sito Alonso, was the great revelation of last season’s league, a finalist in the ACB after eliminating Valencia in the quarterfinals and, precisely, Unicaja in the semifinals in a crazy series: 3-2 and no home wins, three Murcian triumphs as visitors in Malaga. The modest team reached the final and succumbed to the power of Madrid by 3-0.
Unicaja has also tasted glory recently, winning the Cup in 2023 and the FIBA Champions League and Intercontinental Cup this year. Now they will repeat the final of the last Super Cup against the whites, when they lost 81-88.
