Under 19 Asia cup: India’s great start, beat UAE in first match

Harnoor Singh’s century and a brilliant performance by the bowlers helped India beat the United Arab Emirates by 154 runs in the first match of the Under-19 Asia Cup on Thursday. The Indian team sent to bat first scored 282 runs for five wickets.

Harnoor made 120 off 130 balls while skipper Yash Dhul added 63 runs in 68 balls. Rajvardhan Hungargekar scored an unbeaten 48 off 23 balls. UAE tried nine bowlers but could not stop India from scoring big.

In reply, the hosts were bowled out for 128 in 34.3 overs. Hungargekar took three wickets while Garv Sangwan, Vicky Oswal and Kaushal Tamble got two wickets each. India now has to play Pakistan on Saturday. In other matches, Pakistan beat Afghanistan by four wickets and Sri Lanka beat Kuwait by 274 runs.
