Supachok’s goal was scored in the 64th minute, from a throw-in situation after Vietnam goalkeeper Dinh Trieu proactively cleared the ball because a home team player was injured earlier. The Thai midfielder wrote: “After the ball went out, I went to complain to the referee about being fouled, asking him to consult VAR. At that time, we needed to put strong pressure on Vietnam. I did. not concentrating and not caring how the ball went out because he was busy talking to the referee in an angry state.”
After the ball was brought back, with his instincts and the noisy sound on the field, he decided to finish in a split second because he thought Thailand was attacking. Supachok said that when he saw the Vietnamese player rushing to protest, he was confused because he didn’t know what he was doing wrong.
“I tried to explain to them that I didn’t know what happened before because I was angry with the referee’s decision,” Supachok wrote.
