President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people in connection with the consequences of floods and mudflows in the Black Sea region of Turkey.
“I express my sincere condolences to the head of the Turkish state and the friendly Turkish people in connection with the loss of life and significant damage caused by floods in the Black Sea region. We share the pain of families whose loved ones died in the disaster zone. We wish the victims a speedy recovery, ”Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba also expressed his condolences to Turkey.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of floods and mudflows in Turkey, which led to casualties and destruction. I sympathize with the relatives of the victims, I wish the injured people a speedy recovery. Ukraine stands in solidarity with Turkish friends and allies in this difficult period of trials for them, “Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
The number of victims of floods and mudflows in the Black Sea region of Turkey has reached 44 people. It was reported on Saturday by the Emergency Prevention and Management Administration (AFAD) under the Turkish government.
According to the report, 36 people died in the northern province of Kastamonu, 7 in Sinop, and one local resident in Bartin.
