The European Union of Football Associations (UEFA) announced on Saturday that it had fined England 30,000 euros following incidents on the sidelines of the semi-final of Euro 2021 won against Denmark.
UEFA’s decision comes in the wake of excesses caused by English fans who used lasers and smoke, and triggered “disruptions” during the Danish anthem in the previous round.
In this regard, the Danish anthem was whistled by part of the English public and Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was targeted by a laser beam at Wembley Stadium in England.
As a result, the English football federation is fined 30,000 euros for “use of a laser beam”, “disturbances” observed during the national anthems and “lighting of smoke”.
It should be remembered that England reached the final of the Euro after beating Denmark by the score of (2-1) on July 7th.
