Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has announced that following Sunday’s terrorist attack in northern Syria, the number of victims belonging to special police forces has risen to two .

Soylu said on Twitter that the two special forces officers, Cihat Şahin and Fatih Doğan, were killed in the town of Marea, in the area of ​​Operation Euphrates Shield, following a guided missile attack. carried out by the terrorist organization PKK-PYD from the Tel Rifaat area.

The Turkish minister offered his condolences to the families of the two martyrs, to his fellow citizens as well as to the security apparatus, sending them his best wishes for patience and comfort.

The Turkish Interior Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday that the attack was carried out with a guided missile from the Tel Rifaat area, controlled by the “PKK / PYD” (in the countryside of the Syrian province Aleppo), and targeted a Turkish armored vehicle in the area of ​​Operation Euphrates Shield between the towns of Marea and Azaz.

The Turkish army has succeeded, thanks to Operation Euphrates Shield, launched on August 24, 2016, to rid 2,055 square kilometers of land in northern Syria of the presence of terrorist elements.
