Two players give Chennai a surprise victory; Three reasons for Mumbai’s defeat !!

Chennai Super Kings celebrate 20-run victory over Mumbai Indians in the first match of the second quarter of the IPL 2021 season. While some players shone for CSK as they moved from collapse to huge success, some faded. Mumbai lost without captain Rohit Sharma.

The credit for CSKA’s success goes mainly to the two players. To Rituraj Gaikwad and Dwayne Bravo. Rituraj, who scored 88 off 58 balls, gave CSK a decent 156. Dwayne Bravo took three wickets for 23 off 8 balls. Deepak Chahar, who was the star of the Mumbai Indians in the beginning, should also be mentioned.

Mumbai, who dominated CSK’s early in the innings, were then bowled out for irresponsible defeats. The absence of captain Rohit Sharma further weakened the team. Had it not been for Saurabh Tiwary’s 50 off 40 balls in the final overs, Mumbai would have gone into even more embarrassment. Mumbai’s defeat was due to inaccuracy in bowling, poor batting and poor captaincy.

There are many things that make CSKA a headache even in victory. The lack of form in batting in particular calls into question the position of senior players. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni both performed at the end of their careers. Three top players returned without scoring a run. The form of the players will be crucial for CSKA as the tournament progresses.

The Mumbai team benefited from the presence of Adam Milne. Rahul Chahar also did better. However, Trent Bolt was unable to maintain his initial dominance. Bolt’s conceded runs in the final overs. It can be said that the absence of Hardik Pandya and the defeat of Krunal led to Mumbai’s defeat.
