Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus held meetings with his counterparts on Monday ahead of the G20 trade and investment ministerial meeting.
Mus arrived in the city of Sorrento, Italy, which is hosting the G20 ministerial meeting on trade and investment, on October 11-12.
European Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis kicked off the meetings with Minister Mus, who then met with the Managing Director of the World Bank Group, Dr. Mari Pangestu.
“We had a productive meeting where we discussed the evolution of the global economy. We discussed the World Bank’s work on global value chains, the European Union’s Green Accord. and the modernization of the Customs Union, ”Mus said after the meeting.
Mehmet Mus also had a tête-à-tête with his Indonesian counterpart. The two men discussed the prospects of increasing the volume of trade and strengthening trade relations between the two countries.
Minister Mus held his last meeting of the day with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, who is also responsible for Italy’s foreign trade.
“We had a very productive meeting with the Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio. We discussed the economic and trade relations between our two countries,” he said.
During the G20 Ministerial on Trade and Investment, ministers will discuss trade and health, trade and environmental sustainability, and reform of the World Trade Organization.
