The Turkish Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Aid (İHH) has provided humanitarian assistance to 5,000 families in the Jebel Zawiya region of Idlib province in northwestern Syria. Food products were also included in the humanitarian cargo.
In an interview with Anadolu agency, IHH Humanitarian Representative Selim Tosun said that many debris had been found as a result of attacks in and around Jebel Zaviye.
“Residents of the region are experiencing difficulties with the delivery of essential food, as it is located in the southern part of Idlib, close to areas controlled by the Assad regime. The region is still home to tens of thousands of civilians. And in this regard, the Fund is making every effort to help them, ”Tosun said.
According to him, at the moment, bread has become the very first necessity in this region.
“And in this regard, a bakery of the foundation operates in the Jebel Zawie district, where 30 thousand loaves of bread are baked daily. We are distributing this bread to civilians affected by the conflict, ”Tosun said.
