Turkey is the largest investor country in Albania, where about 600 Turkish companies operate. At this stage, the total investment of these companies has exceeded $ 3.5 billion.
Turkish Ambassador to Tirana Murat Ahmet Yoryuk told Anadolu agency about this after a visit to the industrial zone in the city of Elbasan (in the central part of Albania).
“The total number of Albanian citizens employed by Turkish companies is about 15 thousand people. Despite the pandemic, the volume of trade between the two countries exceeded half a billion dollars, ”the ambassador said.
At the same time, the Turkish diplomat recalled the visit of the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama to Turkey in January this year, as well as the strategic partnership agreement signed within the framework of this visit.
“One of the priority aspects of this agreement is the further development of trade and economic relations between Albania and Turkey. Including an increase in the level of Turkish investments, ”the ambassador said.
Touching upon the topic of the new Albanian government, which is expected to be formed in the coming days, Yoruk stressed that Ankara will continue to cooperate with Albania to bring relations to a higher level.
