Turkish holding will build a plant in the south of Kazakhstan

In the south of Kazakhstan, the foundation was laid for an enterprise for the production of soda ash.

The first soda plant in Kazakhstan is being built by the Turkish company Yildirim Holding.

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov, Head of the Board of Yıldırım Group of Companies Yuksel Yildirim, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ankara Abzal Saparbekuly, Governor of Zhambyl Region Berdibek Saparbayev and others took part in the ceremony of laying the plant in Sarysu district of Zhambyl region.

Speaking at the event, Atamkulov noted that Qazaq Soda will become the country’s first plant built according to the Industry 4.0 model using non-waste technologies. “With the launch of domestic production of soda ash, the domestic demand of our country for this product will be satisfied. In addition, permanent employment will be provided in the region, ”the head of the department said.

Investments in the plant will amount to $ 400 million. The start of production is scheduled for 2024.

The capacity of the enterprise is 400 thousand tons of products per year.

In addition to soda ash, the chemical plant will produce 500,000 tons of crude calcium chloride and 100,000 tons of salt.

The plant’s products will be exported to Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.

The plant will provide temporary work for 1,500 people during construction and permanent work for 250 people after commissioning.

Earlier, the company said that an agreement was reached between China CAMC Engineering, SemArco and the consortium Dalian Dehua and Yıldırım Holding on the construction of the plant.

Soda ash is used all over the world, especially in the glass, metallurgical, textile and chemical industries.
