The leaders of the countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) performed Friday prayers at the Fatin Ryushtu Zorlu Mosque on the island of “Democracy and Freedom” near Istanbul, where the VIII Summit of the Turkic Council will be held under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Professor Ali Erbash, addressing the khutba to the believers, said: “Our common goal and prayers are raised in the name of peace, stability and health of all mankind.”
After the prayer, the leaders of the Turkic-speaking states went to the site of the summit.
The summit will be attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Among the participants in the summit, organized under the motto “Green Technologies and Smart Cities in the Digital Age”, are also Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreev.
