Turkey: rescue of 129 irregular migrants turned back by Greece

The Turkish coastguard on Monday rescued 129 irregular migrants in Mugla province in southwestern Turkey.

Coastguard units reportedly rescued 50 migrants aboard distressed inflatable boats off the coasts of Marmaris district and Yilancik Island.

In addition, the teams also rescued 79 other irregular migrants off the Bodrum district.

Rescued migrants, turned back to Turkish territorial waters by the Greek coast guard, were handed over to the city’s Migration Management Directorate.
