In the second quarter of this year, Turkey’s economy grew by 21.7 percent in real terms, making it the second fastest growing economy in the world.
This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a ceremony at the Academy of Gendarmerie and Coast Guard.
“The growth figures for the second quarter of this year, announced today, have once again demonstrated the dynamism, production power and stability of the Turkish economy,” the Turkish leader said.
According to him, thanks to the successful export, the current account deficit in Turkey fell below $ 30 billion. “Employment has reached its highest level in the last 35 months,” the head of state added.
President Erdogan stressed that today’s Turkey is pursuing an independent policy in all areas. “Turkey is fighting terrorism without asking permission from anyone, the same applies to decision-making in the field of politics, economics and reforms,” the head of state said, in particular.
