Turkey offered condolences to Russia on Thursday for the victims of the fire in a coal mine in the Kemerovo region of Siberia in the northeast of the country.
The Russian authorities announced Thursday evening that the death toll in the accident at the “Listvyajnaya” coal mine in the town of Belovo, in the Kemerovo region of Siberia, rose to 52 people.
As a result, the Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing regret for the incident, which it described as “painful”.
The head of Turkish diplomacy added: “We share the pain of the people of the Russian Federation, we extend our condolences to the families who lost their lives and to the government of the Russian Federation, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. “.
The Listvyajnaya Coal Mine was established in 2003 in Siberia and is part of SDS-Yugol, one of Russia’s largest coal miners, according to TASS.
